The Medical Education Commission is making preparations to conduct the joint entrance examination for graduate studies of various medical subjects on July 24. The commission will publish the notice officially after it gets a go-ahead from the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC).

On June 22, the commission had issued a notice asking all students who will be sitting for their joint entrance examination for graduate studies of various medical subjects to select an examination centre that is suitable for them.

The notice had also mentioned that due to the danger posed by the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country the commission will conduct the entrance examinations in centres outside Kathmandu valley too.

The commission had stated that all students who had submitted their applications as per a notice published on March 16 should select a centre of their choice through the online mechanism that the commission had set up. It had also said that students needed to select their centres from 10 am on June 23 to 5 pm on June 24.

The Medical Education Commission has said that this year a total of 32,800 students have filed applications for the joint entrance examination of various medical subjects. Meanwhile, 11,300 students have filed applications to study MBBS.
