Lightning kills three in last 24 hours in Nepal

Three people have lost their lives after being struck by lightning in the last 24 hours in the country.

One person was immediately killed and four others injured when the tree they were taking shelter under was struck by lightning in Mangalthan of Rangeli Municipality in Morang. The deceased whose name has not been revealed is a 20-year-old man. The injured are being treated in Rangeli Hospital.

Similarly, a 60-year-old woman was also killed when she was struck by lightning in Chaukighat Musahari Tole of Ratuwamai Municipality in Morang district. She had gone to the fields to gather some pulses when she was struck. The woman died while she was being brought home.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was also killed due to lightning in Jitpur, Simara of Bara district. He died while he was being taken to the hospital for treatment. A woman and man have also been injured due to lightning in Jitpur.

Likewise, one woman and three men have been injured after being struck by lightning in Dhara Tole of Gaumukhi Rural Municipality in Pyuthan district. Two buffaloes and two goats were killed in the incident.

A house in Sundarharaincha Municipality of Morang district also suffered damages after being struck by a lightning. Electronic goods were also damaged in the incident. Damages worth Rs 9.30 lakh have been reported.
