Health and Population Minister Padam Giri has directed to immediately arrange for the booster dose in addition to the vaccine used against the corona virus infection.

During the monitoring of the health service department today, he has instructed to arrange the administration of booster dose as soon as possible, saying that due to the open border, the infection of corona virus may spread further in Nepal.

"It's too late to give a booster dose. "Why is it delayed," he said, "Make necessary action plans and arrange for immediate booster doses."

Since the procurement process is a very sensitive matter, Minister Giri directed to work in such a way that there is 100% transparency. He said that he should be held accountable if there are any questions regarding the procurement process in the next few days.

He requested to make health institutions information technology friendly and said that patients should know from home how many intensive care unit (ICU) beds are available in which hospital.

He said that it is necessary to bring changes in the health sector so that the people feel it. "The more the department works in a responsible manner towards the people, the more people can get health services", he said. Minister Giri emphasized that the divisions in the department should improve their shortcomings and make service delivery transparent and accountable.

He said that even though many equipments have been sent to the hospital by the department, he has heard complaints that they are not being used.

The director general of the department, Dr. Dipendraraman Singh, informed about the entire department. During the monitoring, the director of the division informed Minister Giri about the services provided by his division.
