New leadership benefits Nepal Airlines

The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines, which is in a weak state financially, has been empowering itself recently.

As soon as the new leadership came in the management of the corporation, the expenses incurred from the overdraft limit have been fully paid. It has been mentioned that the corporation is able to take financial facilities within that limit when necessary. According to the management of the corporation, now the corporation can spend Rs. 3.27 billion at any time.

When the executive chairman of the corporation, Yuvraj Adhikari, entered the company, there was a cash balance of Rs. 580 million, and a cash balance of about Rs. 2 billion has been made, and a loan of Rs. 1.35 billion (Rs. 900 million to the Employee Provident Fund) has been paid.

Yuvraj Adhikari, executive chairman of the corporation, said that the corporation is in a very good condition at present. By paying the overdraft amount, the amount for the interest payment obligation to the corporation for a period of five months has also been saved.

Eight billion income of the corporation in eight months

The Corporation has reported an income of Rs 8.38 billion in the first eight months (Shrawan to Falgun) of the current financial year 2078/79. This is an increase of 47 percent compared to the previous year. In the same period last year, the income was Rs 5.70 billion.

By expanding the number of flights and adding new destinations by the Corporation, the average seat occupancy of the two widebody aircraft of the 'A' 330 series in international flights has now reached around 90 percent. In Kartik, A-320 increased by seven hours and 38 minutes and A-330 by six hours and 38 minutes. The time of A-320 and A-330 increased by 9 hours 48 minutes and 10 hours 41 minutes in Chaitra. Regular flights to international destinations of the Corporation, which were closed or postponed due to various reasons, have been resumed.

According to a senior official of the corporation, there was one daily flight to Delhi in Kartik, but currently there are two flights. The closed flight to Mumbai is currently running three flights a week. Flights have been increased to Bangalore, Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Narita and Saudi Arabia.

The corporation has signed agreements with 21 international airlines for passengers and 24 for cargo, which has also had a positive impact on the reputation and income of the corporation. Keeping in mind the needs of passengers on connecting flights of other flights, the corporation's flight limits have been comprehensively improved and its international reputation has also been increased.

The corporation conducts reservation, ticketing, airport checking, internet booking through the 'PSS' system, which is considered the lifeline of the passenger service system of the airline companies. Fare discount for Nepali workers going to Central and Gulf countries, Digi certificate service, operation and flight of Gautam Budh and Pokhara International Airport, successful test and landing of widebody at Gautam Buddha International Airport, Surveyor sales counter at central office, advertisement on ship and boarding pass, agreement between Corporation and Electricity Authority , the corporation has improved the economic situation by completing tasks such as rescue and medical supplies in a short period of time.
