A Nepali businessman who is doing business is providing necessary assistance to Nepalis who have reached the Slovak Republic to escape the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Businessman Jay Prasad Shivakoti is running a rescue center at Nepal Restaurant, the only Nepali restaurant in Bratislava.

The Nepal Restaurant was suspended on February 28 and established as a 'Rescue Center' with the aim of making it easier for Nepalis affected by the Russia-Ukrainian War to settle down safely after the rescue. So far, many Nepalis have come in contact with the rescue center.

He has also helped citizens of other countries such as India, Bangladesh and Senegal.

On the management of the organization, Shivakoti says, “On the day of arrival, there will be arrangements for food and accommodation and on the second day you will have to go to the accommodation center under the rescue center where a single bed has been arranged to relax with bathing facilities.”

There is no time limit for staying at the accommodation center, but for fear of having to stay for more than three days, you must report to the Foreign Police within that period.

On the basis of which, it will be possible to stay legally as a conflict victim for another 3 months. Shivakoti has informed us that he himself would be facilitating this.

In case of fear of losing one's passport or in need of other legal counseling / assistance, Sivakoti has mentioned that in collaboration with the embassy, travel permits will be issued and legal counseling will be arranged.

At the exit point they will have to show their letter provided by the Nepal embassy in Germany and after entering any country including Slovak Republic they will be welcomed by organizations .

If one is coming to the Slovak Republic, he says, “One can take a bus to Bratislava for free. After reaching there which takes around 6 hours, they can call Nepal Restaurant.”

He also expressed his commitment on helping Nepalis go back home by facilitating air tickets if they are facing financial problems collaborating with IOM and Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
