Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Canada NCC President, Deepak Gautam, and Vice-president Sangita GC hosted the national flag of Nepal at the Parliament Building after chanting Nepali and Canadian national anthem. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Ted Arnott traced back to the history of Nepal and lauded Nepal as a non-colonial country in the history of the world. Furthermore; he said, “I am delighted to be a part of the grand celebration and am happy to be with you all Nepalese in Canada.” Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) of Malton Mississauga, Dipak Anand said he took all Nepalese people in Canada as his family members.

He also shared his happiness and expressed his pride to be with all Nepalese at the provincial parliament. Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Parkdale-High Park, Karpoche has expressed her emotional feelings and attachment with Nepal and Nepali people noting that she was also born in Kathmandu – the capital city of federal Nepal. She also shared that many Nepalese people have been residing in her constituency.

On this occasion, a best wishes message from Nepal’s Ambassador to Canada, Bhrigu Dhungana has been read out on the programme. Youth Coordinator of NRNA Americas Region, Bimala Sapkota, has recently declared her candidacy for NRNA Global Youth Coordinator in the run-up to the 10th general convention of the Association scheduled from October 23-25.

She further said that the special national day has reminded all dignified Nepali immigrants of their struggle at home and abroad for the reinstatement of democracy and promulgation of the hard-earned Constitution of federal democratic republic Nepal through the historical Constituent Assembly – a seven decade-long dream of Nepali people to make the people-centered statute.
