The ruling alliance has expressed its concern over the performance of oppositions including the CPN (UML) in the parliament on Wednesday, terming it 'non-political' and 'unparliamentary'.

A meeting of the ruling partners today reached to a conclusion that the oppositions stood against the government efforts to ensure justice to those affected by the usury practice contributing to aborting the government plan to present the 'Bill to Amend some Nepal Acts including the Civil Code-2080 BS'.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar said any parties/members in the parliament is allowed to criticize the public statement of the Prime Minister, but the way major oppositions chose to protest was unparliamentary," said CPN (Unified Socialist) Vice Chair Rajendra Pandey.

It may be noted that the oppositions including the UML obstructed the House session on Wednesday over the Prime Minister's statement in a public programme on July 3, preventing the tabling of the Bill to materialise the Ordinance regarding the criminalization of the loan sharking.

Meanwhile, the meeting decided to propose Uddhav Thapa of Nepali Congress as the Chief Minister candidate in the Koshi Province by 5:00 pm today.

CPN (Maoist Centre) Koshi parliamentary leader Indra Angbo and CPN (Unified Socialist) Koshi parliamentary leader Rajendra Rai were also present in the meeting. They have been asked for proceeding towards the recommendation of Thapa as the Chief Minister candidate.

Similarly, an understanding was also reached to forward necessary process regarding loan sharking immediately, said Chief Whip of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Hitraj Pandey.

"Ordinance to address usuary issues could not been passed due to obstruction of different parties including CPN (UML) on Wednesday. The Parliament was obstructed raising unnecessary issues", he mentioned.

Chief Whip Pandey shared that meeting agreed to forward the ordinance soon and making necessary process for the same.

Likewise, Vice-Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Rajendra Pandey, shared that the parties including the main opposition should give a clear answer to the citizens that how many days and why they will obstruct the parliament.

It has clearly shown that the parties including the opposition have stood in favour of loan sharks, he viewed.

Chief Whip Pandey further said that it was wrong to demand Prime Minister's resignation without listening him, stating, "PM's resignation cannot be imagined. The Prime Minister will address the parliament on this matter."

Saying the government was active to provide justice to loan sharking victims, Pandey added that today's meeting decided to move ahead with determination to maintain good governance and end corruption.

Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, NC Vice- President and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, Chairperson of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Mahanth Thakur, Chairperson of Janamat Party, CK Raut, and Chairperson of Nagarik Unmukti Party, Ranjita Shrestha, were present in the meeting.
