A 40-year-old woman from Kankai Municipalicity-3 died of Covid-19 here on Thursday. The woman died while undergoing treatment, according to Covid-19 focal person at Kankai, Laxmi Adhikari.
The woman who had traveled to her daughter's home at Pakoda of Jharkhand, India became sick there. Although she got primary treatment in India, she was admitted to a hospital at Birtamod, Jhapa for further treatment.
She was detected positive immediately after the test conducted together with hospital admission. The victim underwent treatment with ventilator support for 10 days, but in vain.
A team of Nepal Army is performing her last rites in the presence of the family and relatives.
