The health programmes launched by the Baglung District Health Office here have been affected amid COVID-19 infection. The office has posted 67.5 per cent progress on health programmes during the pandemic.
The programmes such as training, assemblies and programmes relating to health were banned over the spread of coronavirus, said the office chief Suraj Gurau. "Necessary works have been done. However, some health programmes have been affected. All health workers could not get health training due to the infection. Only a few of them got training virtually. There is a need to provide health training to health workers. Health programmes relating to vaccination, nutrition and diseases like elephantiasis and tuberculosis have been affected," he said.
Health training on contact tracing, immunization, distribution of medicines have been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said resource person Dev Prakash Ghimire. To our maximum part, we could not reach out to the people with awareness programmes owing to the pandemic. Despite this, we are at work to prevent and control the infection," he said.
