Prime Minister's press adviser Govinda Acharya said Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal visit to China was fully successful.

Acharya, a member of the PM-led delegation to China, said the visit has enhanced mutual trust and good will between the two countries.

He said the joint statement issued in the course of the visit and the 13-point agreement and understanding signed on the earlier day will prove to be a milestone for the development of the country.

"In a way the visit has been wrapped up with trust and mutual understanding, it has added new dimensions to the bilateral relations between the two countries. The agreement and understanding reached in the course of the visit will prove to be fruitful for Nepal's development and interests".

Adviser Acharya said he found the Chinese President a high priority to the PM's visit. The talks held by President Xi Jinping with PM Dahal and Nepali delegation and time he allotted for dialogue was testimonial to the fact.

He commented that the spectacular bilateral talks between PM Dahal and Chinese Premier Li Qiang was helpful in enriching further trust and understanding between Nepal and China.

"The visit has taken Nepal-China ties to a new height. A uniformed understanding has been reached and its consequence will be seen in favour of Nepal in coming days", he claimed.

The agreement to open the border transit points that were closed in the aftermath of the earthquake and COVID-19 will help gradually address the issues of import and export of trade goods, he added.

The Prime Minister reached Tibet as most of the border transit points towards the north have been shared with Tibet and Nepal-Tibet trade has been historical, he clarified, adding the PM had taken an opportunity to reach Mansarobar to take stock of the tourism potentials.

PM Dahal reached Kailash Mansarobar – the pilgrimage site of Hindus of Nepal and India – to study the feasibility of convenient routes to travel there through Nepal.

According to Acharya, PM Dahal has made up his mind to expedite the construction of Simkot-Hilsa road to ease tourists to reach there via Hissa transit point of Humla.

The visit he said was successful in enhancing trust to a new level and building newer dimensions. "The visit has been successful in exploring socio-economic development of Nepal and adding new dimensions in diplomatic relations. It will gradually yield results in serving the interests of the country in future", the press adviser claimed.
