Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara University, Prof Dr Prem Narayan Aryal, laid emphasis on research-based education.
Inaugurating the three-day training on health research system organised by Pokhara University Faculty of Health Sciences with the support of Nepal Health Research Council, Vice-Chancellor Aryal shared that research develops new thinking and changes.
He stressed that education of universities should be constructive and research-oriented for the academic upgradation and personality development.
Stating that teachers belong to eminent group of the nation, Registrar of the University, Prof Dr Deepak Bahadur Bhandari expressed the view that teachers should pay attention to produce civilized and disciplined human resources, not only teaching them.
Research should be focused in preparing curriculum and bringing in public health projects, not only to achieve degree.
Similarly, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University, Associate Professor Dr Ajay Thapa, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Associate Professor Dr Amar Nagila, Executive Chief of Nepal Health Research Council, Dr Pradeep Gyawali, among others expressed their views about the importance of research.
Information Officer of the University, Lok Prasad Dhakal, said the training was organised with an objective of introducing about health research process by enhancing knowledge and skill of health workers in health system research proposal development.
