President Bidya Devi Bhandari Tuesday issued seven ordinances including the Acid and Other Harmful Chemical Substances Regulation. The ordinances were issued on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 114 (1) of the constitution, according to the Office of the President.

Other ordinances are Constitutional Council (duties, responsibilities, rights and working procedure) first amendment, an ordinance to amend some acts against sexual violence, an ordinance to some acts relating to the criminal offence and criminal work procedure.

The remaining ordinances are Drugs (third amendment), Social Security (first amendment) and the Nepal Police and Province Police (work operation, supervision and coordination) (first amendment), 2078 BS.

Though these ordinances were presented in the last session of the parliament, they could not be entered into the discussion, and that’s why the government introduced them again. The constitution provision seeks the endorsement of an ordinance by the parliament within six months of the issued date.
