Prez pardons the sentence of 19 people on the occasion of Republic Day

President Ram Chandra Paudel has, on the recommendation of the government, pardoned the sentence of 19 prisoners on the occasion of Republic Day.

In a statement issued by the Office of the President, President Paudel has pardoned the remaining prison sentences of 19 people including Top Bahadur Budha, as recommended by the Council of Ministers meeting on May 26 and 28.

"As per the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, 19 persons including Top Bahadur Budha have been pardoned on the occasion of Republic Day, 2080 in accordance with Article 276 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 159 of the Criminal Procedures, 2074", reads the statement.
