In his message of regards on the occasion of the 7th International Yoga Day, he said the routine practice of Yoga will be useful for maintaining good health and well-being.

“The investigation and practice of our forefathers have proved that the disciplined practice of Yoga is a key to maintain sound health, efficiency, mental peace, and tension free life by enhancing immunity power and positive thinking”, in a message delivered by the Province Chief.

He further added, “The modern health system has also accepted the importance of Yoga. Such national and international Yoga days will help remind the significance of the Yoga and promote its practice for well-being”.

Recognizing this important role of Yoga, this year’s commemoration of the International Day of Yoga focuses on “Yoga for well-being” - how the practice of Yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual.

The United Nations (UN) on 11 December 2014, proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by its resolution.
