Suryabinayak Municipal Hospital operated from today

On the occasion of National Democracy Day, Suryabinayak Municipality has started operating Suryabinayak Municipal Hospital in Jagati from today. With the threat of the third wave of coronavirus still looming, the municipality has brought the 25-bed hospital into operation to treat its citizens and other citizens.

Mayor Basudev Thapa informed that the hospital has been brought into operation from today by constructing five buildings and other necessary infrastructures. The hospital has been brought into operation by repairing an old building and constructing a new building on Government's land previously used by Bhaktapur Brick and Tile Factory at Ward No. 8 Jagati Chowk of the municipality adjacent to Araniko Highway.

Kiran Thapa, ward chairperson of ward no.8 said they have begun admitting patients from today. "We have managed the hospital's administrative building, emergency room, ICU with ventilator, HDU room, OPD, general ward, lab, X-ray and all necessary services. We have also connected new and modern technology in the hospital," he said.

Stating that services of the hospital have been started by a team of doctors including those from the Municipal Hospital in Dadhikot, health workers from different health posts in different wards and a team of doctors sent by the Government of Nepal. As it is connected to the Araniko Highway, we have brought the hospital into operation in such a way as to provide quick, easy and accessible treatment to the citizens as well as patients from other districts like Kavrepalanchok, Sindhuli and those in the east.

The foundation stone was laid by the UML Chairman KP Oli-led government while laying the foundation stone of 396 hospitals across the country at once. He said that the hospital, which was started with the construction of a building with an investment of Rs 80 million from the municipality and Rs 7.5 million from the Parliamentary Development Fund, now has a capacity of 25 beds. Insurance services will also be provided.
