A government employee was arrested from Nepalgunj Airport in Banke with undisclosed amount of Rs.26 lakh. Among those arrested is Khagendra Sapkota, a tax officer working at the Internal Revenue Office in Tulsipur, Dang.
Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesman of District Police Office Banke Narayan Dangi informed that the money was recovered from the bag carried by Sapkota during the check at the airport.
He said that Deepak Poudel, who was working in the Internal Revenue Office at Tulsipur, who was with Tax Officer Sapkota, had absconded.
Sapkota was going to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj by Shree Airlines flight with the said amount. Sapkota has been kept at the District Police Office for further investigation.
