A test flight was conducted today at Resunga airport in Gulmi. NineN-ABT aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation landed here today at 7:39 AM from Tribhuvan International Airport in Resunga Municipality-10, Simichour.
After the agreement between the corporation and Resunga Municipality, the corporation conducted a test flight today for commercial flights. The construction of the airport started in 2063 and was completed after 16 years. The length of the airport is 520 meters and width is 20 meters. Spread over an area of 156 ropani, Resunga Airport is at an altitude of 1,526 meters above sea level.
Yograj Kandel, spokesperson of Airline Operators Association, informed that there is a plan to start commercial flights after today's flight. He says that the corporation will start commercial flights after the technical team gets information about everything. Kandel says that the fare will be determined only after studying how many passengers can be carried. "The fare of Resunga-Kathmandu flight is currently said to be Rs. 6,500 per person, but in the end, it may be up to Rs. 6,000", he said.
Captain Manish Bishta of the corporation said that after submitting today's flight report to the Civil Aviation Authority within a week, regular flights will take place. Earlier, a test flight was conducted at Resunga Airport on 25th June 2075.
Khildhwaj Panthi, head of Resunga Municipality, said that the dream of Gulmi residents to go to Kathmandu by ship after a long time will come true soon.
