Two children who were stuck in the mid part of the Balkhu rivulet were rescued on Saturday. Police rescued the children from the area which is located in between Kirtipur and Chandragiri municipality.
The flash flood in the rivulet had taken them away while swimming. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Police Circuit Kirtipur, Raju Lama informed the entrapped children were rescued with the use of tube and string.
The rescued are Sumit Acharya, 11, of Nuwakotm currently residing in Kalanki, Kathmandu and Ridam Adhikari of Bardibasm currently living in the same place.
They had stepped into the rivulet for swimming with other children this afternoon.
