The government has taken initiative to solve the problem of homeless Nepalis in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Minister for Labor, Employment, and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has discussed the issue with UAE Ambassador to Nepal Saidya Hamdan Al Naki.
During a meeting at the Ministry today, Minister Shrestha requested Ambassador Said to help solve the problems of Nepalis stranded in the UAE on visit visas for employment.
Stating that there is a tendency of unauthorized manpower companies, consultancies, travel operators, middlemen and Nepalis who have been doing various business in UAE for a long time to create fake demand forms, false assurances and temptation to take them on visit visa, Minister Shrestha expected help from UAE government.
He went to the UAE on a visit visa in the hope of finding employment and asked for help for the same employment opportunities until a permanent solution is found. Minister Shrestha had also requested a general amnesty for those stranded Nepalis who have to pay extra fees or are forced to stay illegally after their visa expires.
According to the Ministry, Ambassador Saeed expressed his commitment to help solve the problems of Nepalis in the UAE. He said that he would help in bringing the Nepali or other nationals involved in the process of making fake demand forms, false assurances, and temptation of employment to take them under the scope of action.
