Woman and 2 minors missing in Gandak Canal

A woman along with her two minor sons jumped into the Gandak canal located in Nawalparasi (West of Bardghat Sustapaschim) and went missing.

The condition of the woman and the two minors who jumped into the Gandak canal at Susta Rural Municipality-2 Harakpura in the district is unknown. At around 2 o'clock in the afternoon today, 29-year-old Pratima Tharu, wife of Teerthram Tharu, a resident of Mahalbari, disappeared after jumping into the canal along with her two sons, nine-year-old Krish and seven-year-old Sumit, according to the District Police Office.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhojraj Pandey, Information Officer of the District Police Office, the missing person is being searched for with the help of police station Kudia, area police office Belatari and local residents.

The husband of the woman who went missing after jumping is currently staying in India for work. Police said that the reason why Pratima, who was living with her mother-in-law, jumped into the canal has not been revealed. Deputy Superintendent of Police Pandey said that the incident is being investigated and searched.
