Santosh Chalise has been elected as the president of the Nepali Congress from the regional convention of Kathmandu Constituency No 3. According to the results made public today, Gokarneshwor, who is also the chief of the municipality, has won by getting 405 votes.
According to Santosh Pandit, Returning Officer of Constituency No 3, Dipendra Kumar Lama, Chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 has gotten 159 votes, closest to Chalise. Deepak Risal and Bhuvan Lama have been elected as regional secretaries. Amrit Khadka and Srideep Pandit Chhetri have also won the post of joint secretary.
Similarly, Kumar Raj Subedi, Krishnaji Khadka, Chhiring Dorje Lama, Jagannath Dhimal, Dojang Sherpa, Durga Baral, Narayan Bahadur Subedi, Parashuram Pokhrel, Ramesh Aryal and Haribol Bhandari have been elected as delegates. Kamala Nepali, Geeta Simkhada, Bishnu Devi Pudasaini and Shanti Nepal have been elected as delegates to the General Convention.
Similarly, Jayaraj Bhandari and Ram Raj Thapa have won in the General Convention delegates, Rekha Aryal and Lekh Kumari Pudasaini have won in the General Convention delegates, Dambar Bahadur Tamang, Dev Sundar Bajracharya and Lal Bahadur Lama have won in the Janajati General Convention delegates, Jhuma Lama and Satyabha have won in the Tribal Women's Convention.
According to Pandit, Bikram Sunar has been elected as the delegate from the Dalit side and Anil Dhwaj Karki has been elected as the delegate from the disabled and minority side.
Similarly, Shyam Krishna Sangat has been unanimously elected as the chairman of Kathmandu Constituency No. 4. The constituency belongs to Congress central member and MP Gagan Thapa.
Election Officer Krishna Nath Sharma informed that the counting of votes is underway for other office bearers, members and delegates besides the chairperson. There are a total of 307 voters in the constituency.
