The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order in a writ petition filed seeking to stop re-polling in Bajura's Budhiganga municipality.

A joint bench of acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki and Justice Sushmalatha Mathema issued the order today. The Election Commission had decided to hold a re-vote in Budhiganga municipality on July 7.

Dal Bahadur Sawad of the municipality had filed a writ petition against the decision of the commission and demanded the counting of votes instead of the election held earlier. With the court order, the way has been opened for holding elections in the municipality on July 7.

The Election Commission had cancelled the polling in the municipality held in April and decided to hold the polls again.
