Communist Party of Nepal (UML) candidate Prem Thapa's panel won in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-5. He defeated his nearest rival Rajesh Adhikari of the Nepali Congress by 647 votes.
Similarly, Krishna Raj Chalise and Keshav Prasad Shrestha have emerged victorious from the UML. According to the District Election Office, Kathmandu, Sita Thapa, and Sharmila Pariyar emerged victoriously.
At present, the counting of votes of the CPN (Maoist) is going on from eight places in the National Assembly Hall at Pradarshani Marg. Counting of votes in wards 4, 6, 7, 29, 30, 31, and 32 is underway. The results of wards 1, 2, 3, and 5 have been made public. According to the results, the UML ward chairperson in all the wards and the panel of people's representatives in some wards have won.
Similarly, independent candidate Balendra Sah and UML candidate Sunita Dangol have maintained their lead.
