CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that his party is committed to protecting the interests of small investors in the stock market.
Inaugurating the party's state conference on Saturday, he said that there was no development of industries, and expansion of financial capitalism would not benefit the people as a whole. After being questioned about the anti-stock market statement, Chairman Prachanda reiterated that he was equally committed to what he had stated in principle and that it was absolutely correct.
Chairman Dahal's personal secretary Ramesh Malla said, "The ideological point made by Chairman Prachanda during his remarks is absolutely correct." He said that he was committed to protecting the investment of smaller investors in the current Nepali capital stock market. Personal Secretary Malla clarified that the party would take conscious initiative and efforts for the benefit of small investors and the protection of their investments.
He also stated that there was no point in confusing anyone and making this an unnecessary political issue.
