Women lawmakers met Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand and urged him to address the issues relating to citizenship and visit visas.

Lawmakers Mahalaxmi Upadhyay 'Dina', Rangamati Shahi, Brinda Pandey, Bimala Rai Poudel and Bina Shrestha met Minister Khand on Sunday to draw his attention to the issues on citizenship and visit visa on Sunday.

On the occasion, UML lawmaker Pandey urged the Minister to create an environment to pass the bill on citizenship which was already been forwarded to the federal parliament from the HoR Committee.

She said it would be appropriate to make laws by passing the bill since understanding had been forged in the issues except for marital naturalised citizenship.

Minister Khand's press coordinator Madhusudan Bhattarai shared that the women leaders asked the minister to take initiatives at the earliest possible since many people were having hardship in opening bank accounts, getting enrolled at school and submitting applications for employment due to the issue of citizenship.

They also drew Minister Khand's attention to deploy at least 50 per cent of the total temporary police and officials in the elections.
