India's Sarabhanan Mani has won the title of Mr. Asia in the 55th Asian Bodybuilding and Physics Sports Championship. Mani won the title beating his ten competitors. Mani lifted the trophy in the M.Asia competition among the winners of different ten weight groups for physical fitness. He entered the overall round by winning the 90 kg weight category.
In the competition organized by the Asian Bodybuilding and Physics Sports Federation and managed by the Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Nepal has managed to come third in the team championship with a total of 260 points on the men's side. On the men's side, India got the first position with 795 points and Thailand got the third position with 590 points. On the women's side, Thailand won the team championship title. The second place was Vietnam and the third place was Hong Kong China.
Biplab Karki from Nepal who completed the male athlete physique 182 cm got the bronze medal today. India's Rama Somasekhar won gold and Bhutan's Tandin Wangchen won silver in this category. Nepal has managed to get 3 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals in this championship. Bishal Poudel won gold in junior bodybuilding, Sanam Mulguthi in swim suit category, Rajani Shrestha in 55 kg bodybuilding.
Suresh Duwal 55 kg, Ashim Babu Garunge 60 kg, Manoj Subedi 65 kg, Lalit Dhimal 75 kg, Raju Rai Fitness Physique category, Tara Khaiju Model Physique won silver medals. Kamal Bhandari 60 kg, Krishna Prasad Shrestha 80 kg, Ranjit Lama Fitness Physique, Biplab Karki Athletics Physique, Nihal Man Joshi got bronze medals in Athletics Physique.
236 athletes from 17 countries, 168 men and 68 women, competed in 45 different categories. Bhutan, China, Hong Kong China, India, Kazakhstan, Macau China, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam participated in the championship, which was the first big competition in the bodybuilding competition.
In the championship, 28 categories were contested for men, 16 categories for women and 1 mixed category.
