Sandipa Amgain and Shishir Shrestha won bronze medals in the WT President Cup Oceania GTo Taekwondo Championship. Sandeepa and Shishir won the bronze medal in the under-30 pair poomsae of the championship held in Morefield, Queensland, Australia. In this competition, Chinese Taipei won the gold medal and Australia won the silver medal.
Nepal's Sagar Guvaju and Paras Bhandari also competed in the championship.
Sagar, who has been a member of the national team, competed in Gyorogi's under 80 kg weight group. Similarly, Paras competed in the weight group below 68 kg.
All four players are also competing in another tournament in Australia, the Australian Open G To Championship. Sandipa and Shishir will compete in the under-30 pair poomsey, Sagar in the men's 74 kg and Paras in the 63 kg weight group.
Sandipa is living in Japan for her studies while others are studying in Australia.
Paras, who won a bronze medal in the Sarawak Borneo Cup International Taekwondo Championship held in Malaysia, was declared the best player of the tournament. Sandipa, who won a silver medal in the same competition, has also passed the 'Level Two Coaches' course.
Sandipa, who is also an assistant coach of Sitapaila Taekwondo Dojang, passed the 'Level Two Coaches' conducted by World Taekwondo. Similarly, Guvaju won the gold medal at the Sunshine Coast Open Taekwondo Championship in Australia.
