KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to take on Kuwait in the final of the ongoing Four-Nation T20 tournament being held in Hong Kong. The championship match will kick off at 11:15 AM on Sunday at Mission Road Ground.
Nepal advanced to the final after their Saturday fixture against Hong Kong was abandoned due to rain. With the no-result, Nepal topped the standings with 5 points from 3 matches.
Kuwait followed closely behind with 4 points from their 3 games. Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Qatar will battle for third place today.
In Saturday’s rain-hit match, Nepal won the toss and chose to bowl first. Hong Kong reached 68 for 3 in 11 overs before rain interrupted play. With 9 overs left and conditions not improving, the game was called off. Nepal moved ahead to the final by virtue of having more points.
Nepal secured 4 points from two victories earlier in the tournament, while Hong Kong managed just one win in their two completed games, finishing with 2 points.
Nepal remains unbeaten in the tournament, having previously defeated both Qatar and Kuwait. The series features four teams: hosts Hong Kong, Nepal, Qatar, and Kuwait.
