Oman’s popular travel agency, Travel Point, and the Embassy of Nepal to Oman signed a partnership agreement to encourage and facilitate tourism to the Himalayan country.
As part of this collaboration, Travel Point is set to offer a range of travel packages, highlighting destinations such as Pokhara, Kathmandu, and Lumbini. The company also plans to introduce family packages and Everest base camp expeditions.
Sunil D’Souza, CEO of Travel Point, stated, “We aim to provide various destination options in Nepal to our Omani customers, primarily within the age group of 18 to 35. Our packages will cover culture, tradition, adventure, leisure, and religious experiences. With around seven Unesco sites in and around Pokhara, it will be an added attraction for travellers from Oman. We also look forward to collaborating with Nepalese travel operators to facilitate a significant influx of tourists to Oman.”
The company has already established partnerships with three local companies in Nepal, offering luxury services such as helicopter trips, spa experiences, and high-end resorts.
Dornath Aryal, Nepal’s ambassador to Oman highlighted the appeal of Nepal to Omani travellers, saying, “Nepal is a diverse mountainous destination having altitudes from 60m to thousands of metres. This diversity is perceivable in its food, culture, ecology, appearances, and language. Many Omanis enjoy trekking, and Nepal is one of the best places for it.”
