Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha said it is spectacular to make wider publicity among Buddhist communities across the globe to impart a message that Nepal is a country to visit at least once.
In his address to the 77th central annual general meeting of the Dharmodaya Sabha here today, Minister Shrestha stressed the need to initiate a publicity campaign to give a message that Nepal was a country enriched with cultural heritage.
"We need to change our existing approach. Nepal needs to spread a message far and wide that the country is not only for seeing Himalayas and trekking but also a place where visitors can visit the places anytime", he added.
Minister Shrestha further emphasized widening the message of Gautam Buddha to transform prevailing internal conflict, stress, and unhealthy competition into peace.
On the occasion, three monks who attained the doctoral title in Buddhism-related study were honored.
As informed, Dharmodaya Assembly has its chapters in 56 districts.
The annual meeting would elect a new working committee.
Voting is set to take place at Bhrikutimandap-based Buddha monastery at 1.00 pm on Sunday to elect seven vice-chairpersons, a secretary, and a joint treasurer informed general-secretary Bajracharya.
