Nepali army's mountain cleaning campaign under the Safa Himal Campaign 2023. In the campaign, the army are going to clean Mount Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Barunche and Mt. Annapurna.
According to Suresh Adhikari, secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, a total of 32 members of the Nepali Army have been exempted from the duty. A team of 13 will climb Everest and Lhotse, 9 in Barunche, and 10 in Annapurna. A team is being sent under the leadership of Chief Soldier Kishore Adhikari, Soldier Samir Bahadur Basnet in Barunche, and Bhim Bahadur Bhujel.
