The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) witnessed its daily turnover cross a whopping Rs 19.55 billion today – the first trading day of the week.
Meanwhile, the Nepse index increased by 1.30 per cent or 38.32 points to reach 2,983.10 points today. The sensitive index too expanded by 2.19 per cent or 11.54 points to rest at 539.41 points while the float index rose by 1.43 per cent or 2.92 points to touch 206.74 points.
Today, the country’s sole secondary market saw 37,076,439 changing hands through 182,430 transactions.
The biggest winner of the day was the development banks subgroup that increased by 8.24 per cent or 388.24 points to reach 5,099.88 points. The biggest loser of the day was the trading sub-index that declined by 1.06 per cent or 43.71 points to rest at 4,080.94 points.
