Nepal Law Practitioners' Council has revoked the certificate of lawyer Prakash Khatiwada.
The council decided to revoke the certificate after he was convicted by the Lalitpur District Court in a case of forging a government seal. The decision to revoke his certificate was made on the basis of the council's say on January 22, 2020.
According to the records of the council, Khatiwada received his certificate on October 4, 2013. Pursuant to Article 19 of the Nepal Law Practitioners Council Act, 1993, there is a legal provision for the council to revoke the certificate if it is proved later that he/she is ineligible to become a lawyer before obtaining the certificate.
According to Mona Singh, secretary of the council, the lawyer's certificate has been revoked as per the legal provisions of the Council as he was convicted of tampering with the government seal.
