KATHMANDU: PL Singh, the former Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has passed away.
At 85 years old, Singh passed away this morning (Monday) at his home in Chaksibari, Thamel, as confirmed by family members. He had been suffering from an ulcer for an extended period.
Singh was a prominent figure in Nepal's democratic movement, serving as a close aide to Ganeshman Singh. Recently, he had distanced himself from the Nepali Congress.
Singh assumed the position of Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City after his victory in the local elections of 2049 BS.
