An arrest warrant has been issued against Prateek Thapa, son of former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal'. An officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that the District Court of Kathmandu issued an arrest warrant against Prateek on Friday.
Prateek's involvement in the fraud case in the name of sending Nepalese citizens to the United States under the quota of Bhutanese refugees has been seen.
It is said that when Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal', who was also the Vice President of CPN (UML), was the Home Minister, the gang started the business of sending Bhutanese refugees to the United States.
In this case, former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, the then Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey and security advisor of "Badal" Dr. Indrajit Rai, CPN (UML) Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi's son Sandeep Rayamajhi, along with 12 people are in jail.
