For fear of the further spread of COVID-19 in the community, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has asked the schools to avoid crowds and strictly abide by public health and security measures.
A meeting presided over by Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha on Thursday took a decision to this end considering the adverse effects on students' health and academic activities on the institutions.
According to Ministry's Spokesperson Dipak Sharma, all the academic institutions have been asked to apply the health protocols and security measures determined by the provincial governments and local levels; use facemasks and hand sanitiser at schools while asking the institutions to make sure that provisions for hand washing, taking body temperature and taking the symptomatic persons to the nearby health institutions are effectively prepared.
As stated in the press release, the schools must follow the 'School Operation Framework, 2077' and not conduct any assemblies, functions, anniversary celebrations and other crowd-induced events.
