Gaushala-26, a rape victim, has lodged a complaint at Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police against violator of her privacy. The person had made public her name and photo.
Bureau spokesperson Pashupati Kumar Ray informed that the Bureau received a complaint by Gaushala-26 regarding the breach of privacy with the disclosure of victim's name and photo. Investigation into this has begun, Ray added.
Cricketer Sandip Lamichhane, convicted of raping Gaushala-26, was handed down 8-year jail term on Wednesday. The Kathmandu District Court also fined half million rupees to Lamichhane.
A foreign committee member of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Diwas Sapkota, who is currently in Japan, had released a photo and name of Gaushala-26, thereby breaching victim's privacy.
Meanwhile, the RSP has suspended Sapkota in this connection.
