The Nepal Muslim Association has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha on Thursday, drawing attention to maintaining religious tolerance in view of the latest developments in some parts of the country.

A team led by chairman of the association, Ataual Mansoor met DPM Shrestha and urged him to create an environment to maintain tolerance in the affected areas.

In the memorandum submitted to the Government of Nepal through the DPM, the Association has called for necessary security arrangements during the celebration of upcoming festivals like Dasai, Tihar, Chhath and Moharram.

Special instructions should be issued to all the district administration offices and the security agencies for the necessary security arrangements during the festivals and any religious events, adds the memo.
