The meeting of Nepal-India bilateral foreign secretary-level mechanism has started in Kathmandu. The meeting between the Indian team led by Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra and the Nepalese team led by Bharat Raj Paudyal, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, started at Hotel Yak and Yeti.
Issues including connectivity, electricity trade, agriculture, and health will be discussed in the meeting.
Kwatra came to Kathmandu from India this morning. He went directly from Tribhuvan International Airport to Hotel Yak and Yeti.
The Indian Foreign Secretary is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal today as well.
He is also scheduled to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba. In his meeting with Prime Minister Dahal, he will hand over the invitation to visit India sent by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
