Terai-Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP) Lokatantrik Party (TMDP) has expressed its discontentment over the President's move not to certify the Citizenship Bill within the stipulated time. The Bill was sent to the President following its re-endorsement by the Federal Parliament
In a press statement issued by party Chairperson Brikhesh Chandra Lal here today, the party showed its discontentment that the Constitutional provision to certify the Bill had not been followed by the President.
The statement from the party reads," The Article 61(4) states that compliance and protection of the constitution shall be the main duties of the President. The President is mandated to certify the Bill when it is sent to the President twice for authentication."
