Bodily remains of five Nepalis killed in Russia-Ukraine war handed over to family

 The bodily remains of five Nepalis involved in Russian military and killed in Russia-Ukraine war have been handed over to the concerned families. The dead Nepalis were however cremated in Russia itself.

The families of those killed in Russian war had given permission for the cremation. They were Devan Rai, Hari Prasad Aryal, Pritam Karki, Anit Kumar Saha and Ganesh Shrestha, according to the Foreign Ministry.

The Ministry informed that a total of 118 families who had their loved one missing following Russian army recruitment had applied for the search and return. Similarly, relatives of 166 Nepalis injured in war have requested for facilitating their return.

The Ministry data puts it that 36 Nepali youths have died so far in Russian war.

Similarly, five Nepalis injured in the war have been receiving treatment, while one of the injured returned home.

The number of the youths who returned home so far stands at 162, while number of application for DNA test is 22, and number of letters seeking documents from Moscow for compensation is six, according to the Ministry.

Certified information of death is awaited in case of the victims- Bikash Rai from Morang, Netra Bahadur Thapa from Kaski, Uday Raj Tharu from Rupandehi, Pirtam Rai from Bhojpur, Lalit Singh Doval from Darchula, Hem Kumar Magar from Kailali, Tara Prakash Gharti from Salyan, Ramkumar Budhamagar from Rukum.

Those taken hostage by Ukrainian army are Bibek Khatri (Bardiya), Siddhartha Dhakal (Kavre), Bikas Rai (Morang), Pratik Pun (Rolpa), Sujan Subedi (Chitwan), and Ishwor Lamichhane (Makwanpur).
