HOWRAH: The divine birth centenary celebrations of Srila Bhaktivallabha Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, former Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Matha were held in Howrah. A religious assembly and a grand religious procession were organized on this occasion. Bhaktivallabha Tirtha Goswami Maharaj was a favorite disciple of Acharya Tridandiswami Srimad Bhakti Dayit Madhav Goswami Maharaj, the founder of the All India Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Matha. He was the previous Acharyadeva of the institution and the former president of the Vishwa Vaishnava Raja Sabha.
On the occasion of this birth centenary celebration, various programs were held for two days at the United Bhata Maidan in Karatberiya village.The entire program was conducted by the current Acharya of the Math, Pujyapad Tridandiswami Srimad Bhakti Vichar Vishnu Goswami Maharaj and the Mathrakshak of Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math in Sridham Mayapur, Tridandiswami Srimad Bhakti Vaibhav Narayan Maharaj.
The program began with a grand religious procession on Saturday. The procession of lakhs of people from Karatberiya ended at Panpur intersection on the High Road with Harinam Sankirtan. Devotees, monks and common people participated in this procession. Various aspects of Indian culture, including dance, were highlighted in the procession. A grand religious meeting was organized on Sunday, December 15. Many prominent people participated in the religious meeting.
