A pregnant woman was rescued by a helicopter in Darchula. Chief District Officer Kiran Joshi said that 30-year-old Bhagarathi Badu of Beas Rural Municipality-6 Huthi was rescued by a helicopter of the Nepali Army under the President's Women Upliftment Program.
Doctor Somraj Awasthi of District Hospital Darchula informed that she is 26 weeks pregnant with twins and although one child was born on Tuesday, the child's lungs were not developed enough to give birth to another child. Today, she was sent by helicopter to Surkhet Provincial Hospital in Karnali Province for further treatment. According to him, the health condition of the mother is not alarming and the baby born in District Hospital Darchula has been kept in the ICU of Surkhet Provincial Hospital.
