One-way traffic has resumed at Nagdhunga, the major entry and exit point to the federal capital. The road located in Chandragiri Municipality-2 of Kathmandu had been blocked due to a landslide earlier this morning.
According to Police Range Thankot, the road has been opened for one-way traffic since 5:00 pm. With continuous rain and subsequent land slip, it took a whole day to open the road that was blocked since 10:30 this morning.
Head of Thankot police range, Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Prakash Subedi, said that there is a possibility of another landslide if the rainfall continues. Hence, police is sharing information using loud speakers asking travelers to avoid the route as much as possible.
The landslide occurred near Nag Mandir, a few hundred meters from Nagadhunga Chowk. Hundreds of travelers were left stranded on the two sides of the road where it was blocked by the landslide.
