Due to the open Nepal-India border, the risk of corona infection is increasing in Banke. Even though the corona of the citizens entering from the Jamunah checkpoint in Nepalgunj is being tested, the open checkpoints in other rural areas are moving freely without any test. Tej Oli, a resource person at the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center, said that the rate of corona infection has been increasing among the people returning to Nepal from India recently.

According to him, 27 new corona infections were found at the Jamunah checkpoint on Wednesday alone. There are 17 people including 11 men and 6 women in the Bal Mandir Isolation Center in Nepalgunj till Wednesday. All of them are from outlying districts. As the corona infection is increasing day by day, the district administration office has issued an order not to overcrowd and to follow the health standards.

Chief District Officer Surya Bahadur Khatri informed that the administration has banned all kinds of political and public events in public places, including organizing administrative, social, and similar events and organizing fairs, gatherings, and festivals.
