Woman's dead body found in hotel at Dharan

The body of a woman has been found in a room of New Kantipur Hotel and Guest House at Buddhachowk, Dharan Sub-metropolis-18, Sunsari.

While going to clean the room this morning, the hotel staff had informed the police after seeing the body. The body of an estimated 30-35 year old woman was found, said Sunsari Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh Thapa.

According to hotel manager Sushil Jimmy, a man had booked room 109 of the hotel with the woman for two days. While cleaning the house in the morning, the staff had entered the room and found the body of the woman lying on the bed.

The woman and a man stayed together until Monday evening, but in the morning the men were not there. The relationship between the absconding men and the deceased woman has not been revealed. According to Superintendent of Police Thapa, the woman may have been killed due to injuries sustained in the incident. The incident is being investigated and the identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained, police said.

Police said that an identity card written by Sumitra Tamang was found in the room where the woman was staying. Police have called the woman's relatives for identification on the basis of the identity card. The incident is suspicious as the woman has injuries on her face, said Superintendent of Police Thapa.
