A woman has died in a lightning strike in Kailali today.
The deceased has been identified as Sugpankhi Devi Chaudhary, 56, of Kailari Gaonpalika-1, said Ved Prakash Joshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office. She was struck by lightning while planting in a field near her house. According to Pranau Joshi, Chaudhary died on the way to Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi for treatment.
Similarly, Dhaniram Chaudhary, 32, of Kailari-3 and Krishna Chaudhary, 34, of the same village have been injured in the lightning strike. Both were injured when lightning struck them as they were extracting paddy seeds in their own field. Both are undergoing treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.
