Chitwan National Park authorities arrested 24 people for illegal fishing.
They were arrested while fishing in the Narayani River using a restricted preparation net. They were arrested from Bhagedi-based Narayani shore in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-26 at 3 am, according to the national park's Information Officer, Lokendra Adhikari.
National park authorities seized a Bolero jeep, two scooters, two quintal fish, and 44 sets of preparatory nets from their possession.
They have been charged with National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act (2029) and further legal action will be taken, informed park authorities.
