An agreement has been signed between the governments of Nepal and Japan regarding the restoration of the irrigation system and the improvement of the urban transmission and distribution system in the Eastern Terai region.
According to the agreement reached in the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, Nepal will use concessional loans worth about 2 billion rupees for irrigation system restoration and improvement and about 14.2 billion rupees for urban distribution and transmission.
Finance Secretary Krishnahari Puskar and Japanese Ambassador Kikuta Yutaka signed the agreement.
