Finance Minister tables Economic Survey-2021/022

Minister for Finance Janardan Sharma tabled the Economic Survey-2021/022 in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Saturday.

The Economic Survey includes the economic details of the country for the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

The government tabled the economic survey in the Federal Parliament some days before tabling the annual budget. As per the constitutional provision, the government tables the annual budget on Jestha 15, Republic Day.

As stated in the Economic Survey, a total of 621 megawatts of hydroelectricity including 456 megawatts of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project is linked to the national transmission line till the first nine month of the current fiscal year. The government has a target to link 1,629 megawatts of power to the national grid.

In the current fiscal year, three megawatts of power are generated from sugarcane bagasse and 14 megawatts from the solar system.
